West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced a financial grant of Rs 50 lakh for ISL champion Mohun Bagan club. She reached Mohun Bagan Club on Monday.
Mamta said that she had come here last year also and had already announced financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh to better decorate the club. Today after the victory, she has come to eat sweets on behalf of the supporters of the club.
For the progress of the club, financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh will be given by the state government. She further told Sports Minister Arup Biswas to immediately give a financial grant to the club.
She said that Mohun Bagan club has made West Bengal proud across the country with its stupendous performance.
Mamata said that earlier Gostha Gopal used to play for this club, who had defeated the Gorkha team playing empty-handed. The sentiments of the people of Bengal are attached to this club.
